WASHIINGTON, United States (Kurdistan24) – In a recent interview, a US politician said that if elected as president Donald Trump would terminate the current nuclear deal with Iran.

Tom Marino, a Republican Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 10th congressional district, spoke to Kurdistan24 about the US’ relationship with Iran if Trump is elected, the threat of the Islamic State (IS), and backing those who fight them.

“[Trump] clearly, clearly said that there [would] be no more deal with Iran that the Obama administration put together,” he stated.

“This is one of many issues that [Trump’s] made very clear, there will be no more deal with Iran, and they will be held accountable for what they do,” the Congressman added.

Marino also mentioned that Trump would hold a meeting with world leaders regarding Iran and “explain to them this is the way it’s going to be.”

The Republican Congressman discussed the conflict in the Middle East and said that it is important to support the US’ allies in the region who are fighting IS.

“We have to make sure that we work with our Middle Eastern allies who have been there all along for us,” Marino stated.

“A show of force will clearly get the point across and get this mission accomplished where we completely destroy [IS] and work on destroying, eliminating terrorists all around the world,” he added.

Additionally, Marino didn’t explicitly mention the Kurds but said the US welcomes anyone who “legitimately” supports the fight against IS.

“If they’re concerned about [defeating IS], we welcome them,” he concluded.
