PHOTOS: The Kurdistan Region's "paradise" in Duhok

DUHOK, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – Gali Sherana in the province of Duhok has been one of the hottest tourist destination in the Kurdistan Region this summer thanks to its stunning landscape and nature.

The place remained untouched until recently. The location resides in the mountains, meaning people have to hike at least for two hours before reaching the spot.

People on social media have called Gali Sherana “the paradise of Kurdistan” with its blue water and stunning view. The water is extremely cold and crystal clear.

Tourists have called on the government to build an appropriate road to the area and provide more services. Many concerned environmentalists and outdoor enthusiasts have also urged the government to protect the area and keep it pristine, calling on them to establish rules and force visitors not to throw or leave their garbage behind and clean up after themselves.
