PHOTOS: Fire breaks out in central Baghdad, destroys shops

On Saturday morning, a huge fire broke out in a number of shops located in the district of Nahda in central Baghdad, causing substantial financial losses.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – On Saturday morning, a huge fire broke out in a number of shops located in the district of Nahda in central Baghdad, causing substantial financial losses.

The blaze overtook several shops near the intersection of al-Kindi Hospital, an eyewitness told Kurdistan 24.

It was not immediately clear what caused the outbreak of the fire.

Photos posted on the Iraqi social media networks show a huge plume of black smoke rising from a large furniture store near the Nahda parking area.
