Collaborative efforts have resulted in significant achievements for the Kurdistan Region.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – The Gorran [Change] Movement, following the passing of its leader Nawshirwan Mustafa, reiterated efforts to resolve issues between the party and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) through dialogue.

Omer Said Ali, a senior leader to Gorran Movement, in a joint press conference with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) PM Nechirvan Barzani on Monday called for collaboration between his party and the KDP to resolve their long-standing issues.

On Monday, PM Barzani, who is also deputy president of the KDP, visited the Gorran Movement headquarter on Zargata Hill in Sulaimani to pay tribute to the party’s late leader Nawshirwan Mustafa.

The Gorran Movement senior leader said, “we hope that both sides [KDP and Gorran] with the support of all other political parties can work together, especially the KDP and Gorran through dialogue and friendship, to settle matters before our nation undertakes its liberation movement.”

Said Ali thanked the KDP and its high-level delegation for the visit to the late Gorran party leader’s tomb in Sulaimani, stating that all parties should set aside their differences in a way that best serves the people of the Kurdistan Region.

During the press conference, PM Barzani said that while there have been political differences between Kurdish parties, many achievements and duties were accomplished thanks to the participation of Nawshiwan Mustafa.

“Collaborative efforts have resulted in significant achievements for the Kurdistan Region,” the Kurdish PM concluded.

On May 19, the head of the Gorran Movement (Change) Nawshirwan Mustafa, 73, died, after lengthy battle with cancer in his hometown province of Sulaimani in the Kurdistan Region.
