IS deceived starving Ezidi women into eating her baby: Iraqi MP

A Yezidi (Ezidi) woman kidnapped by the Islamic State (IS) was deceived into eating her 1-year-old child.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – A Yezidi (Ezidi) woman kidnapped by the Islamic State (IS) was unknowingly fed her 1-year-old child, according to an Iraqi Member of Parliament.

Iraqi MP Vian Dakhil told Egypt’s Extra News on Monday that the militant group tricked an Ezidi woman into consuming her baby after starving her for three days.

According to the unnamed woman's account, Dakhil said she was left in a basement for three consecutive days without food.

When the extremists finally provided her food, she desperately consumed it but was later told she had eaten her own son.

“One of the women whom we managed to retrieve from [IS] said that she was held in a cellar for three days without food or water,” Dakhil stated.

“Afterward, they brought her a plate of rice and meat,” she continued. “She ate the food because she was very hungry.”

According to a teary-eyed Dakhil, the Ezidi woman was left horrified when the IS militants told her, “We cooked your 1-year-old son that we took from you, and this is what you just ate.”

The Iraqi MP also revealed a 10-year-old girl was raped by the barbaric group in front of her father and other siblings.

“One of the girls said that they took six of her sisters,” she said. “Her younger sister was raped to death in front of her father and sisters.”

When IS emerged in 2014, they targeted the Ezidi community in northern Iraq’s Shingal, killing over 3,000 and kidnapping 6,800 others.
