ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – A new private company in the Kurdistan Region aims to contribute to the transportation and tourism sector. The service is led by Canadian staff.

The head of Heli Excel Company, Idris Hassan, told Kurdistan 24 he has been working on this project for six years.

“The helicopters can be used for tourism or transportation between the provinces of the Kurdistan Region,” he told Kurdistan 24 Correspondent Hoshmand Sadiq on Thursday. “It can also be used to transport foreign consuls and diplomats too who are in the Kurdistan Region.”

He mentioned that the helicopters could also be used for hospital emergency and can seat up to six people.

"The prices are very reasonable," Hassan said.

It is the first company in the Kurdistan Region to open for public transportation as well as for tourism.

“This service will save lives, preserve the golden hour to transport injured people to hospitals in the fastest way possible… We operate 24/7,” Jan Stephan, one of the Canadian pilots told Kurdistan 24.
