ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan24 reporter Hunar Ahmed visited the city of Hamdaniya, southeast of Mosul, during the Iraqi army’s operation to liberate the Christian town from the Islamic State (IS) on Oct. 24.

Ahmed attempted to discover the level of defense used by the extremists inside the city.

Additionally, he visited places where IS insurgents fiercely fought the Iraqi army.

Hamdaniya, 25 kilometers southeast of Mosul, had a majority Christian population which was forced to flee to the Kurdistan Region after IS’ invasion in August 2014.
