ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani laid the foundation stone for the Halabja Silo in a special ceremony in Halabja province on Sunday.
The project, implemented by both Admin and ABP TDS companies, is set to cost 27.2 billion dinars.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister Barzani highlighted the ongoing struggle to officially recognize Halabja as a province. "Although the Kurdistan Regional Government decided to make Halabja a province more than ten years ago, the procedures for its provincial status have not been completed by the House of Representatives," he said.
"We emphasize that these measures should be completed as soon as possible at the federal level, to officially recognize Halabja as a province and allocate a development budget accordingly," the Premier underlined.
I'm pleased to return to Halabja. On this visit, we announced $20mn investment in a new silo to help local farmers, create more jobs and support the local community.
