A child born on Wednesday with half a head in the Kurdistan Region died after less an hour.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – A child born on Wednesday with half a head in the Kurdistan Region died after less an hour.

The child was born on Wednesday morning in Soran hospital located in Soran city.

“The child was born via surgery,” Karwan Hiwa from Soran Hospital told Kurdistan24.

“It was an abnormal birth in the Kurdistan Region because the child only had half of his head,” he continued.

After less than an hour, the child died, Hiwa informed.

He also mentioned doctors were taking medical tests regarding the rare case.

According to Hiwa, the reasons for such an abnormality are still unknown, and doctors would provide further information later.

Moreover, doctors believe these complications took place due to some factors.

The medical professionals pointed to the mother’s incorrect and irregular eating habits during the months of pregnancy as a possible reason for the child’s condition.

They also advised pregnant women to conduct regular check-ups during their pregnancy so doctors could guide the mothers in a sustainable way to help them avoid such birth abnormalities.
