Earthquake hits part of Sulaimani province, no human casualties

People in Ranya, Qaladze and other nearby towns also felt tremors at 8:35 am local time.

SULAIMANI, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – A 3.8 magnitude earthquake rattled the north of Sulaimani province on Tuesday morning according to a Kurdish official.

The earthquake hit Raparin area, which includes the towns of Qaladze, Sangasar, Hajiyawa, and Ranya, the Kurdistan Region’s Weather Condition and Forecast Director-General, Fazil Ibrahim, told Kurdistan 24.

“People in Ranya, Qaladze and other nearby towns also felt tremors at 8:35 am local time,” Ibrahim said.

Kurdistan 24 has learned there have been no human casualties, only slight damages to houses in the area.
