ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – US-led coalition forces held a sniper course with Kurdish forces in Sulaimani, the official Twitter account of the US-led Special Operations Joint Task Force-Levant (SOJTF LEVANT) announced on Wednesday.

“Long range marksmen are essential for controlling a fight,” read a tweet from the account.

SOJTF LEVANT said the goal of the course is to “enhance and develop sniper capabilities. Strong partnerships increase regional security.”

The Twitter account of the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR), the official name for the US-led coalition, confirmed in a tweet on Thursday that its “Peshmerga partners continue to sustain their combat skills to remain ready and prepared to deter any threat.”

It added that the Peshmerga “continue to work at bringing stability and security to the region. @Coalition is committed to #AdviseAssistEnable #StrongerTogether.”

Also, in December, the SOJTF said it had provided a multi-week Close Quarter Battle Course for their Kurdish allies.
