Fire broke out in the old Qaysari Bazaar in Kirkuk, 100 of shops burnt down

More than 100 shops are burning in the old Qaysari bazaar, the shop owners are suspicious in the incident!

Erbil (Kurdistan 24) – This Sunday morning May, 19, 2024, a massive fire broke out into the old Qaysari bazaar in Kirkuk, only after 2 hours the fire was controlled by the fire brigades.

“According to the early correspondences, more than 100 shops burnt and damages occurred to 10s of other shops, mainly shops of the women and children clothes destroyed,” Dylan Barzan, Kurdistan 24 correspondent, stated. 

“The burnt items are to be thrown away, but the rest of the items will not be of use due to the fire cause, we cannot sell them out,” stated a shop owner.

“That couldn’t be a fire accident caused by an electricity, we believe it is an arson because when the fire accident happen, the guard had already switched the electricity off, probably someone threw something from a hight to burn down the market”.  A shop owner  

Kirkuk’s Qaysari bazaar is one of the oldest in Kirkuk, it has 375 shops.

Six years ago, in 2028, a fire broke out into the market and 75% of the shops burnt.
