ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A motorcyclist opened fire at a police checkpoint in Kirkuk on Friday, June 7, resulting in the death of one policeman and the injury of another.

According to a Kurdistan24 reporter Harem Jaf in Kirkuk, the incident occurred in the city center near the headquarters of the 3rd branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and workers' square.

The police forces had signaled the motorcyclist to halt, but instead, the individual opened fire while passing the checkpoint, leading to the tragic outcome.
