Underage child killed by lightning on Monday

ERBIL (Kuridistan24) –The Khalid Martyr General Hospital Manager Saman Sartip, in statement to Kurdistan 24, revealed a 14-year-old boy called Sherko Naman, was hit by lightning and died immediately.

“The child was from Qurichai village in Kifri district in the Garmian Administration” Sartip added.  

According to the manager’s statement, the child’s corpse has been taken to the autopsy department in the hospital.

Due to a rapid change of the weather last night many places in Kurdistan region experienced a wave of heavy thunderstorm, lightning, strong wind, and raining.

According to the official reports, since last month, this is the third case of death by lightning has been recorded. On May 6, in Abadati village in New SharaDe on Kirkuk border, the lightning killed a shepherd who was 31 years old.

It is worth mentioning that the day after, on May 7, in New Hawler avenue in Erbil, 3 students were hit by lightning which led to the death of one.
