ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Iraqi Meteorological Agency (IMA) announced on Monday that temperatures are set to exceed 50 degrees Celsius and issued a strong recommendation for Iraqis to stay at home.

IMA added that the heat wave was caused by the effects of the low-pressure system.

The IMA also stated that the impact of this low-pressure system will persist throughout the weekend, with temperatures anticipated to decrease early next week.

The IMA advised citizens to avoid direct sunlight and stay at home during the afternoon.
