ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Besides protecting the Kurdistan Region, Peshmerga forces also protect nature, birds, and animals as part of their national duties.

Several water wells have been built in Mount Qarachogh by the Peshmergas of the second battalion of the 14th Brigade of the Kurdistan Region Peshmerga Ministry.

Earlier, the Civil Defense of the Kurdistan Region issued several guidelines aimed at self-protection and raising awareness among people. In addition to recommendations for safeguarding their skin, health, cars, and homes, they also emphasized the importance of providing water for birds and animals in appropriate locations. These measures are intended to help protect the nature of the Kurdistan Region.

Water is essential for the survival of wild animals in arid regions like Mount Qarachogh. By providing water wells, the Peshmerga forces ensure that birds and animals have access to this vital resource, supporting their well-being and contributing to the preservation of the diverse nature found in the Kurdistan Region.
