KDP Vice President meets with Secretariat Bureau of Kurdistan Women Union

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Vice President Masrour Barzani, on Tuesday met with the Secretary and members of the Secretariat Bureau of the Kurdistan Women Union.

The Vice President of the KDP emphasized the importance of the Kurdistan Women's Union in advancing the Kurdistan liberation movement and eliminating social violence.

Barzani also emphasized that Kurdistan women must play a role in encouraging more women to engage in politics and administration.

The Union was established by a group of Kurdish women in Sulaimani on Dec. 11, 1952, in Sulaimani under the supervision of the late Mullah Mustafa Barzani.

According to party officials, the organization played a remarkable role in the Kurdish revolutionary movement in the following years.
