Barzani Charity Foundation reconstructs five Kurdish schools in Kirkuk

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – While it is summer holiday in Kurdistan Region (August 2024), pupils and students are off academic institutions, the Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) dedicated its funds, sources and efforts to reconstruct five Kurdish schools in Kirkuk.

The work scheduled, and expected to be completed within a month.

During the summer holiday, when schools are closed, Barzani Charity Foundation starts to work and renovate the schools in Kurdistan Region and admins outside the regional government’s admin authority.

On this occasion, more than 100 workers and employees dedicated themselves to work in those five schools.

Nasser Mohammed, the supervisor of schools renovation project, stated to Kurdistan24 “the water and sewerage systems have been completed, electricity provided and majority of the building completed.”

The Barzani Charity Foundation's project is not only to rebuild the schools, but also to supply school necessities and to students as well at each new academic year.

There are more than 500 Kurdish schools and nurseries in Kirkuk.

According the sources in Kirkuk, education in Kurdish language is the system of subject learning of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s. The curriculum belongs to the Ministry of Education at the Kurdistan Region and Iraqi Ministry of Education, but the Iraqi government is not ready to assist Kurdish education in the city.
