Prime Minster, Masrour Barzani attended the first Syriac Symposium in Erbil

The Premier warmly welcome the attendees "I welcome you-all to Erbil the capital city of Kurdistan Region, the capital of coexistence, different religions and cultures"

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani attended the First Syriac Symposium in Erbil on Thursday. 

“This symposium is the first international conference of its kind, with the participation of more than 40 academics and researchers from more than 25 distinguished international universities, 15 of those are the international, well-recognized universities like Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge, as well as a number of other researchers and academics from various Iraqi universities.” The Director General of Syrian Culture and Arts, Kldo Ramzi Oghna stated.

He added "the symposium discusses research on Syriac culture, visual arts and crafts, Syriac music and song, Syriac theater, performing arts and Syriac cinema, as well as Syriac village life, with Syriac media and how to develop it,"

According to the schedule, the symposium also discussed 50 papers selected by the scientific committee from among the 100 submitted to participate in the symposium.

The Prime Minster posted through his X social platform account, extending the compliments to the Syriac community.
