ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has significantly contributed to the recovery and development of northeastern Nineveh province, according to a statement from the US Consulate General in Erbil on Sunday.

Since mid-2018, USAID has been actively engaged in addressing stability and inclusion challenges in the Sinjar district.

The US Consulate General highlighted that “USAID has been actively addressing challenges hindering stability and inclusivity in northeast Nineveh” through a variety of initiatives.

The statement detailed that USAID, in collaboration with local communities, has launched 82 initiatives specifically aimed at enhancing public services within Sinjar.

These initiatives have been instrumental in supporting nearly 100 schools and over 30 health centers.

Additionally, they have benefited various service departments, including those responsible for water, municipality, electricity, agriculture, and civil documentation.

These efforts have been crucial in creating a supportive environment for the return of displaced Yezidi families and in alleviating tensions related to limited public services in the region.

The ongoing support from USAID underscores a commitment to rebuilding and improving the quality of life in the affected areas of Sinjar.
