'The Land of Buried Women' Documentary Selected for Italian Film Festival

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - The documentary "The Land of Buried Women" has been chosen for the seventh edition of the prestigious Storie Parallele International Film Festival in Italy.
"The documentary 'Land of Buried Women' has been screened at many festivals in northeast of Syria (Rojava), the USA, Russia, Italy, and Spain and has received awards," Omer stated.
"The documentary narrates the story of a man who has dedicated 13 years of his life to working in a cemetery for murdered and unidentified women. He fulfills the roles of a gravedigger, gardener, and guardian of the cemetery," Omar explained.
The documentary, written by Didar Omar Hamawandi and directed by Rekawt Hama Tofiq, continues to make its mark on the international film festival circuit, earning recognition and accolades.
The film explores the poignant and impactful narrative of this man's dedication to maintaining the cemetery and honoring the memory of the women buried there, shedding light on a somber yet significant aspect of the region's history.
