ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region's Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Monday inaugurated the Kavin Farm project, a significant agricultural endeavor dedicated to cattle rearing and dairy production.

In his address at the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Barzani emphasized the project's strategic importance for the region. 

"It is a source of pride that such initiatives are being implemented in the Kurdistan Region," he stated. "The Kavin Farm project not only benefits the Semel region but also Duhok and other provinces, contributing to the overall economic development of Kurdistan."

The Prime Minister highlighted the project's potential to create hundreds of job opportunities for the local population. "By developing the agricultural sector, we can stimulate growth in other industries and diversify our income sources," he explained.

Barzani also underscored the project's role in ensuring food security for the Kurdistan Region. "Providing food and maintaining food security is a paramount goal for any nation," he said. "I am pleased to witness our progress towards achieving this objective."

Looking ahead, the Prime Minister expressed his intention to prioritize the industrial sector in the region, creating additional employment opportunities for young people.

Regarding the marketing of agricultural products, Barzani highlighted the region's efforts to connect with the global market. 

"We have successfully exported farmers' products to the Gulf countries and beyond," he noted. "This not only strengthens our economy but also regulates trade relations with our economic partners."

The Prime Minister's inauguration of the Kavin Farm project marks a significant milestone in the Kurdistan Region's agricultural development, promising a brighter future for both farmers and consumers alike.
