Iraqi PM al-Sudani, IHEC emphasize transparent elections for Kurdistan Region's Parliament

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Saturday, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani held a meeting with the Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), where both parties underscored the necessity of conducting a transparent, fair, and credible election for the upcoming sixth session of the Kurdistan Region’s Parliament.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the ongoing preparations for the elections, scheduled for October 20.
Prime Minister al-Sudani reaffirmed his government's full support for the electoral commission, pledging to ensure the provision of all required resources and assistance for the electoral process.

The sixth session of the Kurdistan Region’s parliamentary elections is set to take place on October 20 under the oversight of the IHEC.
According to biometric voter registration data, a total of 2,899,878 individuals are registered to vote in this election, comprising 2,683,618 general voters and 215,960 special voters.
