Peshmerga repel IS attack in northwestern Kirkuk, kill two
IS extremists infiltrated to the Peshmerga-controlled areas through sneaking among displaced people.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – Peshmerga forces on Tuesday repelled an Islamic State (IS) attack in the town of Dibis, located in the northwest of Kirkuk Province, killing two insurgents.
Five IS militants conducted the attack in the villages of Mwsherfa and al-Mkhurj in northwestern Kirkuk, where two were killed while the rest escaped, Kurdistan24 correspondent Soran Kamaran said.
He also informed that three Peshmerga forces and security members had fallen, and four more were wounded, including the head of the Dibis Police Office.
Kamaran also mentioned the village is an Arab-populated area and IS had kidnapped an Arab resident.
“IS has sleeper cells in the area,” the Mayor of Dibis Abdulla Nouri told Kurdistan24.
