Barzani Headquarters condemn the terrorist attack on KDP MP

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Barzani Headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leader Masoud Barzani strongly condemned the terrorist attack on KDP member of parliament Shakhawan Abdullah's office in Kirkuk in a statement on Wednesday
"I strongly condemn the terrorist attack on the Kirkuk's office of Shakhawan Abdullah, Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi parliament," the Barzani Headquarters' statement read. "We call on the government security offices to investigate this terrorist act, reveal the perpetrators, and punish them for their crime."
"Terrorism would never win over the will of advocates of freedom and coexistence," the statement added.

Unknown assailants threw a stun grenade into the office of Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah, in the city of Kirkuk on Wednesday.
The attack took place in the predominantly Kurdish neighborhood of Rahimawa, causing some material damage without leading to any injuries, an informed source told Kurdistan 24.
Abdullah is a member of the KDP and was elected as the second deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament on Jan. 9. He became a member of the Iraqi parliament after obtaining the majority of the Kirkuk vote in the Oct. 10 election.

No party has claimed responsibility for the attack, which comes amid similar assaults targeting the offices of Kurdish and Sunni parties, as well as two Kurdistan Region-affiliated banks in Baghdad.
