Kurdistan PM highlights Erbil-Baghdad ties in meeting with top diplomats
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Saturday met with top diplomats in Erbil, highlighting the latest regional developments and his cabinet's reform initiatives as well as Erbil-Baghdad relations.

The premier told the diplomats that a new Iraqi government needs to serve every community in the country and facilitate achieving peaceful coexistence, security, and stability, a Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) statement read.

Barzani also indicated that the Kurdistan Region continues to work with the federal government of Iraq to build better relations and resolve all outstanding disputes based on the constitution.
He also explained his cabinet's ongoing efforts to diversify the Kurdistan Region's economy, increase sources of revenue, reduce expenditures, develop a comprehensive taxation scheme, facilitate the work of foreign and local investors, and digitize public services.

Barzani emphasized "the necessity" of combatting corruption through increased government transparency.
He also reiterated that the Kurdistan Region is an essential factor for stability in the region and always looks forward to building good relations with neighboring countries and improving its ties with the international community.

The premier stressed the importance of a sustained anti-terror campaign to address the lingering ISIS threat, especially in territories disputed between the KRG and the Iraqi government.
In another segment, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani discussed the recent migrant crisis and outlined his cabinet's key measures to end illegal immigration.
