Erbil (Kurdistan 24) – Dana Gas Company has announced the temporary suspension of production operations in the Khor Mor gas field in the Kurdistan Region following a terrorist attack on one of the liquid storage tanks.
In a statement, Dana Gas Company (PJSC) confirmed that the attack occurred on Friday, April 26, when a drone targeted a storage tank within the Khor Mor facilities of Pearl Petroleum Company, resulting in the tragic death of four contractor employees and minor injuries to eight others.
Expressing condolences to the families of the victims and colleagues, the company emphasized its commitment to alleviating the suffering of those affected by the incident and prioritizing the health and safety of all members, including employees and contractors.
Although the facility sustained no significant damage, Dana Gas implemented procedural changes to ensure the safety of its employees and operational facilities.
The company assured full coordination with the authorities of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq to support efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The attack has garnered condemnation regionally and internationally, prompting calls for immediate action and collaboration with government authorities to enhance security measures at the Khor Mor facility.
