ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) spokesperson Peshawa Hawramani emphasized on Thursday that Prime Minister Masrour Barzani's primary demand is to keep the issue of salaries separate from other political matters.

In an interview with Kurdistan24, Hawramani stated, "The Kurdistan Region always seeks to solve the outstanding problems with the federal government on the basis of the constitution."

He added that adherence to the constitution by both the KRG and the federal government would lead to the resolution of all issues.

Hawramani highlighted that Prime Minister Barzani’s visit to Baghdad and his meetings with the Federal Prime Minister and political leaders reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region's good faith in resolving these issues.

"If the promises made during the meetings are implemented, the people of the Kurdistan Region will be happy, and this will benefit the entire Iraqi people," he said.

He stressed that "the basic demand of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government is to separate the issue of salaries and entitlements of the region's employees from any other issues, especially political issues."

Hawramani reiterated that Prime Minister Barzani's visit to Baghdad underscores the Kurdistan Region's sincere intention to address the outstanding problems.

He pointed out that the Kurdistan Region has fulfilled all its obligations and responsibilities, emphasizing that the visit of the President of the Region to Baghdad confirms this commitment.

During his series of meetings in Baghdad, Kurdistan Region's Prime Minister Masrour Barzani held extensive discussions with several prominent figures, focusing on resolving issues and enhancing cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government.

Prime Minister Barzani met with:

- Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani
- Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law coalition
- Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Al-Hikma National Movement
- Abdul-Sada al-Fariji, Secretary-General of the Iraqi Nahj Alliance
- Acting Speaker of Parliament Mohsen al-Mandalawi
- Faleh al-Fayaz, head of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF)
- Fayeq Zedan, Chairman of the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council
- Khamis al-Khanjar, leader of the Sunni Sovereignty Alliance
- Qais al-Khazzali, Secretary-General of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq militia
- Hadi al-Amiri, Secretary-General of the Badr Organization
- Iraqi National Security Advisor Qassem al-Araji

These meetings aimed to discuss the political and general situation in Iraq, emphasize the importance of resolving outstanding problems based on constitutional principles, and secure the financial rights of the Kurdistan Region.
