ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A total of 515,000 tons of wheat have been received from silos as of May 20, according to Haidar Karrawi, General Director of the Grain Marketing Company.
Additionally, Karrawi stated that they have not received wheat from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) provinces and will start receiving wheat from farmers in Erbil, Sulaimani, and Duhok this week.
He also revealed that Kirkuk province produced 495,000 tons of wheat last year, followed by Nineveh with 927,000 tons and Salahaddin with 830,000 tons.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani on May 5, received KRG Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources Begard Talabani.
The meeting discussed agricultural issues throughout Iraq and the marketing of agricultural products by Kurdistan Region farmers.
