KRG Council of Ministers address environmental protection
During the meeting, Prime Minister Barzani referred to World Environment Day and said every day should be an environmental day, with a culture of environmental protection being developed.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Council of Ministers. Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani was also in attendance.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Barzani referred to World Environment Day and said every day should be an environmental day, with a culture of environmental protection being developed.
The Prime Minister emphasized the commitment of the KRG to environmental protection, saying that all of us should be concerned about protecting the environment and the beautiful nature of Kurdistan.
As the first item of the meeting, KRG Coordinator for International Advocacy Dindar Zebari presented the second year's report on the implementation of the KRG’s Human Rights Plan of 2025-2021, which the Council had approved of Ministers in September 2021.
In his remarks, the Premier commended the KRG Coordination for International Advocacy on this report. He highlighted the need to protect human rights as part of the ninth cabinet agenda item.
As a second item, the Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, Begard Talabani, provided an update regarding the Iraqi government's latest position regarding wheat farmers in the Kurdistan Region, and the Ministry's recommendations in this regard.
The Council of Ministers commended the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources for taking steps to protect farmers' rights in the Kurdistan Region, as well as Prime Minister Barzani's recent efforts and his discussions with the Iraqi Prime Minister.
Then they discussed the latest developments in the resumption of oil exports from the Kurdistan Region.
The Prime Minister and the negotiating delegation discussed the meetings and efforts to resume oil exports from the Kurdistan Region.
