Kurdish Woodcarver Opened Her Exhibition
The exhibition was in Mahabad, Hawar participated with her wood-made items. she made tray, cup, mug, sugar-cubes bowel, candle holders, table lamp, bowel and vase

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – 2 artists, one is Kurdish and from the east part of Kurdistan, showed their woodcarving work in an exhibition that was opened in Mahabad (east of Kurdistan). It is the first time this type of show operated, and to exhibit the art work and designs that were made of wood.
The two wood carvers and/ or sculptor made different things from wood, vase, base of the table lamps light bulb base, plates candle holders, furniture…etc.

They both participated in many exhibitions in different parts of Iran, it is the first time they opened a woodwork show in the eastern Kurdistan. The Woodcarver Hawar Faizulla who is from Mahabad, but resides in Tehran, graduated from the Art and Sculpture department in the University in Iran.
Hawar revealed that it is 20 years she works in woodcraft, and 5 years in woodcarving and sculpturing areas. She can make stands and lamp holders from wood, and chooses walnut and pear trees.
In that show, Hawar participated with her woodcraft products she made, for example tray, cup, mug, sugar-cubes bowel, candle holders, table lamp, bowel and vase.

Parwin Danish from Mahabad said “It is an interesting and beautiful show, with such nice woodcarving work, gives peace to heart and mind, you can feel the emotions and feelings in their work”
The woodcraft is an old art, it used to be known as a carpentering and masculine profession. However, in last few decades woodcarving is studied in some departments in the universities, and women attempt to learn and find their skills also creativity in that profession.
