Car explosion in Sulaimani's Raperin neighborhood injures two

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – A car exploded near a residential project in Sulaimani's Raperin neighborhood. The Kurdistan Region Security Agency forces quickly arrived at the scene, initiating investigations.

Kurdistan 24 correspondent Aram Baxtiyar reported that the vehicle was carrying two passengers, both members of the PKK Freedom Movement, who were injured in the blast.

In a statement, the Kurdistan Region’s Security Agency said, “At 11:30 AM on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, two people were seriously injured in an explosion involving a white Kia Sportage car. The motives and reasons for the explosion are not yet known. The blast resulted in severe injuries to both the driver and the passenger.”

The Security Agency confirmed that the investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing.
