ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Wednesday discussed bilateral ties with Petr Štěpánek, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Iraq.

The Prime Minister thanked the Ambassador for his efforts in developing bilateral relations and wished him success in his future endeavors.

In addition to expressing his appreciation for the cooperation and coordination between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Czech Embassy, the Ambassador expressed his desire to continue developing relations with the Kurdistan Region in a variety of areas.

The Czech Republic opened its diplomatic office in Erbil in May 2006, demonstrating a vote of confidence in the Kurdistan Region's official autonomy earlier than other European nations, and at a time when the Region was still embroiled in the Iraq War.
