Sidakan District in KRG’s 9th Cabinet Service Plan

The foundation stone set for paving the streets of the avenues and building a drainage- sewage service in the Sidakan district.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The 9th Cabinet of the Kurdistan Region Government continued to offer urban development services to many areas, and one of those was planned to Sidakan which was supervised by Halgurd Sheikh Najib, who is the Supervisor of Soran Independent Administration.

With a budget of more than 1 billion and 509 million dinars, the cornerstone of two projects set on Thursday, to make the area revived in term of serving the public, productivity and development.

The foundation stone set, to pave the streets of the avenues and build a drainage- sewage service in the district.

Halgurd confirmed that lately, this independent administration ran many of the urban development services in the areas around. Cornerstone for several projects have been set by the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Government, all of them will have a lively impact on Sidakan district, such as the dual carriageway -40m- it is a two-sided road connecting the hall of events and the Freedom Martyrs, a city park, a national park, and the Soran gate overpass.

“There is more projects on way for the area in the 9th Cabinet’s plan. The Premier spent some of his life time in that area, he was glad to hear the 2-project started, he set cornerstones for many projects that have been implemented” Halgurd said.

“Having many conflicts in the area delayed all the services that were planned to offer to the public. It is a shame but it could’ve started earlier. Kelashin gate would’ve opened to public and its locals, it would’ve been beneficial to the tourism sector, trade, animal and agricultural.” Halgurd sadly underlined in a statement in the event held to set the cornerstones.  

He continued “The civilians have been victims, however, we in the Kurdistan Region’s Government continue to reach out the countryside and all the villages around it, the border of Sidakan district is quite broad”
