ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has sent a congratulatory letter to Masoud Pezeshkian, the newly elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In his letter, Prime Minister Barzani emphasized the long-standing relationship between the Kurdistan Region and Iran, highlighting the potential for greater understanding and cooperation.
He expressed hope for removing obstacles and establishing a relationship that meets the expectations of both sides.

Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian,
President of the Islamic Republic of Iran,
On behalf of myself and the Kurdistan Regional Government, I extend my warmest congratulations on receiving the confidence of the Iranian people and your election as the ninth President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. We wish you success and hope that the plans and programs of your cabinet will lead to further development and progress for the Iranian people and that the economic, political, and cultural relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the region will see significant progress.
We, as the Kurdistan Regional Government, will cooperate and seek to have the best relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran based on mutual respect and friendship. Together, we can work for peace, stability, and further progress in our region, especially in developing trade and economic relations and improving the living standards of our citizens.
The Kurdistan Region and Iran have a long-standing relationship that can be turned into a favorable ground for further understanding, removing any obstacles and problems, and establishing a relationship that meets the expectations of both sides.
