Kurdish Film Wins Best Documentary Award at Italian Festival

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The documentary "The Land of Buried Women" has won the Best Documentary Award at the fifth Ostia Film Festival in Rome, Italy.
Didar Omer, the author of the documentary, expressed his joy and gratitude to Kurdistan24: “First of all, I congratulate the entire staff of the film on winning the award for the best documentary.”
“The documentary has participated in several other festivals in West Kurdistan, the United States, Russia, Italy, and Spain, and has won awards in most of them,” he added.
The documentary tells the story of a man who has worked for 13 years in a cemetery for murdered women without addresses. This man serves as the gravedigger, gardener, and caretaker of the cemetery.

The documentary is written by Didar Omer Hamawandi and directed by Rekawt Hama Tofiq. It has participated in numerous festivals and has received multiple awards.
