Iraqi Olympic delegation led by a Kurd arrives in Paris for 2024 games

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - The Iraqi Olympic delegation, led by Harda Rauf, has arrived in Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games, where a Kurdish judo champion will compete for gold and silver medals.
Harda Rauf, the Kurdish head of the Iraqi delegation, told Kurdistan24 that the team arrived at the Olympic Sports Village in Paris on Tuesday. Rauf has been preparing the athletes for the Paris Olympics and ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place.
The Iraqi delegation includes the Olympic football team, a weightlifter, a swimmer, a track and field athlete, and a judoka or a judo player. The team opened an eight-day training camp in Lyon, during which they played a friendly match against Egypt, losing 2-1.
Harda Rauf stated that the Iraqi Olympic team will face Ukraine in their first match on Wednesday. They will then compete against Argentina on November 27 and Morocco on November 30 in Nice.
The Iraqi swimming and judo athletes will arrive in Lyon next Monday, followed by the athletes and weightlifters three days later, who will compete for gold and silver medals.
Rauf mentioned that all facilities have been provided for the athletes and the Iraqi Olympic delegation.
Special places for rest and training have been prepared upon their arrival in France, ensuring they are fully ready to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
