Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani invited to attend COP29 in Baku

During the meeting, Ambassador Mammadov extended an official invitation from the Azerbaijani Presidency to Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani to participate in the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29).

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Mr. Fawzi Hariri, the chief of staff at the Kurdistan Region Presidency, recently received Mr. Nasir Mammadov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Iraq.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mammadov extended an official invitation from the Azerbaijani Presidency to Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani to participate in the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29).

This significant summit will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11.

The discussion also covered the development of relations between Azerbaijan, the Kurdistan Region, and Iraq, addressing the current situation in these areas and broader regional developments.

Ambassador Mammadov expressed Azerbaijan's desire to enhance its relationship with the Kurdistan Region, emphasizing that the Kurdistan Region President's upcoming visit to Baku and his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will mark a new chapter in the relations between Azerbaijan, the Kurdistan Region, and Iraq.

The Azerbaijani Ambassador highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral ties and collaboration on various fronts, including political, economic, and cultural exchanges.

This visit is seen as a pivotal step in fostering closer cooperation and mutual understanding between the two regions.
