IHEC invites international observers for upcoming Kurdistan Parliamentary elections

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iraq's Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), announced on Tuesday the opening of registration for international observers ahead of the Kurdistan parliamentary elections. This initiative aims to ensure transparency and credibility in the electoral process.

Interested international observers can register at the IHEC office in Erbil. Registration forms and detailed requirements are available for download on the official IHEC website.

Jumana al-Ghalai, the spokesperson for IHEC, stated on Saturday that the deadline for submitting candidates, parties, and coalitions for the elections has passed, marking a significant step forward in the electoral timeline.

The upcoming elections, scheduled for October 20, were announced by Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on June 26. This will be the sixth session of the Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections, reflecting the region's ongoing commitment to democratic processes.
