Erbil governor participates in Paris climate change conference

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw recently took part in a scientific conference on climate change held in Paris. The conference, which was part of the events leading up to the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, featured discussions on pressing environmental issues.

Governor Khoshnaw was formally invited by Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, to attend the conference, which brought together a diverse group of global leaders, including governors, mayors, and general secretaries from capital cities around the world.

The two-day conference covered three main topics: the impacts of climate change, media responses to the global climate issue, and the role of clean energy in environmental sustainability and urban greening. These topics were explored in depth by experts and participants.

The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, set to begin on Friday, will also see attendance from Khoshnaw and other international dignitaries, further highlighting the global focus on climate action and sustainable development.
