Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani honors KDP’s 78th anniversary

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Friday, the First Deputy President of the Democratic Party of Kurdistan and President of the Kurdistan Region marked the 78th anniversary of the establishment of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) with a stirring tribute to the party’s historical achievements, its enduring legacy, and the sacrifices made by its members in the Kurdish liberation movement.
In a heartfelt message, the Kurdistan Region's President Nechirvan Barzani honored the memory of the martyrs of Kurdistan and extended his deepest respects to their families.
He paid special tribute to the late Mullah Mustafa Barzani, the revered leader and founder of the KDP, as well as to all the heroes and revolutionaries who have contributed to the Kurdish struggle for freedom.
Reflecting on the KDP’s journey, the Kurdistan Region's President Barzani expressed pride in the party’s pivotal role in leading the Kurdish movement toward freedom and prosperity.
He emphasized that the KDP’s unwavering commitment to the values and principles upon which it was founded has been instrumental in guiding the Kurdish people through decades of struggle and triumph.
"The KDP has been and will continue to be the leading force in the Kurdish movement," Barzani stated. "It is a source of immense pride that since its inception, the KDP has led the way toward achieving freedom and prosperity in Kurdistan, and it will persist in this mission until its final victory."
As the region faces significant developments and challenges, the Kurdistan Region's President Barzani reiterated the KDP’s continued leadership in fostering unity, solidarity, and coexistence within the Kurdistan Region.
He affirmed the party’s role in safeguarding the constitutional rights of the Kurdish people, promoting tolerance, and ensuring the protection of all communities in the region.
"The KDP’s history is marked by struggle, sacrifices, and remarkable achievements," Barzani noted. "With the faith and trust of the Kurdish people, the party is dedicated to building a brighter future. To do so, it must continue to evolve with the times, strengthen its institutions, and uphold the national spirit."
President Barzani concluded his message with a solemn remembrance of the fallen heroes, offering his prayers for their souls and extending his congratulations to all KDP members, supporters, and the Kurdish people on this significant anniversary.
