ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Friday, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani marked the 78th anniversary of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) with a powerful message honoring the party’s enduring legacy and the sacrifices made by its members in the pursuit of Kurdish freedom and prosperity.

In his statement, President Barzani extended heartfelt congratulations to the KDP’s cadres, members, and supporters, as well as to the proud families of martyrs, the heroic Peshmerga forces, and all communities across Kurdistan.

He expressed his wishes for their continued prosperity and happiness, underscoring the significance of this milestone in Kurdish history.

Reflecting on the founding of the KDP on August 16, 1946, under the leadership of the late Mullah Mustafa Barzani, President Barzani described the party’s establishment as a historical necessity for the Kurdish people.

At a time of great challenges, the KDP emerged as a crucial instrument for achieving the democratic, national, and ethnic aspirations of the Kurdish people.
