Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Onju Kecheli posted Joint Operations Command's statement

The Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Onju Kecheli reiterated a statement that was announced by the Iraqi Joint Operations Command through his social platform X, and adding “With Iraq we have a strong and common will combating terrorism”

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – Security Intelligence Cell of the Joint Operations Command in a statement announced “at 9:30 (a.m.) on Thursday, the Iraqi Air Defense shut down a drone in an Operations Command sector in Kirkuk province. Chasing it up and knowing its route which was reaching the center of Kirkuk, where dozens of Governmental headquarters, economic centers and important targets are. All the security agencies were warned,”

The Security Intelligence Cell of the Joint Operations Command further stated "after notifying all the security agencies in Kirkuk, as well as was confirmed by the International Coalition, the drone was not known to them" 

The cell also explained the drone crashed into the ground in Kirkuk at 10:30 (am), was found to be Turkish drone. 

The Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Onju Kecheli reiterated a statement that was announced by the Iraqi Joint Operations Command through his social platform X, and adding “With Iraq we have a strong and shared will, combating terrorism”

"Turkey will continue to defend itself against those terrorist organizations based in Iraq, in accordance with the Article 51 of the UN Charter," He stated.  

An investigating technical team has been made up between the Air Defense, Crime Documents department and Ownership to the drone.

The team will look into finding out the crashing and circumstances of the accident.
