Iranian President Pezeshkian: "We Have Come to Erbil to Resolve Outstanding Issues"

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared his intention to address and resolve ongoing issues between Iran and the Kurdistan Region during his official visit to Erbil on Thursday.

In a press briefing following a series of high-level meetings, Pezeshkian expressed optimism about strengthening ties with both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

Upon his arrival in Erbil, President Pezeshkian met with Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani and Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.

He later held a separate meeting with Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani. The discussions focused on regional stability and enhancing bilateral relations across various sectors.

Following the talks, President Nechirvan Barzani and President Pezeshkian addressed reporters, with the Iranian Presdient speaking directly in Kurdish. "We have come to improve our relations with Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and Erbil," Pezeshkian stated. 

He further emphasized his commitment to resolving ongoing challenges, confidently stating, "By God, we will completely eliminate all the problems that have existed so far."

This visit underscores Iran's efforts to engage in dialogue with the Kurdistan Region, aimed at fostering cooperation and resolving key issues affecting both sides.
