Reaching final phase for electoral procedure

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – Electronically Transferring Votes by the Iraqi High Election Commission (IHEC) in Erbil, for the second time tested, and is approaching the final phase of preparations.

The Head of the Media Team at the IHEC, Emad Jamil advised that this general election in the region will be modeled for future elections as well as the devices experiments successfully accomplished.  

“The Kurdistan Regional Parliamentary General Election will be a model election, all the equipment and devices successfully passed all of the tests,” Jamil stated to Kurdistan 24, “the test of electronically sending over the votes, as well as the process succeeded, the devices did not experience any troubles,”

He further revealed the aim behind that procedure was to identifying and solving any types of issues the devices perhaps experience.

Jamil confirmed there is no room for fraud and fraudulent or faking during voting, and “absolutely it is away from the human hands in the process”

Collecting the electronic voting cards exceeded %90, IHEC expects the entire cards to be handed over in the near future, “for the very purpose the distribution process is still on” Jamil said.

Revealed by Jamil that %91 percent of the biometric cards, which is 1.690.000 cards, handed out to people, and the remainder is 2.899.000 voters who will be voting through the electronic card.

Handing out cards carries on, there is about 200.000 cards remained to be collected by their owners, such process gets completed within the designated period.
