Teachers granted permanent employment contract

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – On Thursday, following Prime Minister’s recommendation for transferring temporary or Zero-Hour-contract based teachers to permanent employment contracts, , a group of teachers visited the Council of Ministers to extend their gratitude.
They presented flower bouquets via Dr. Alan Hama Saeed and the Diwan (Office) Chairman at the Council of Ministers of Kurdistan Region Government, Dr. Omed Sabah.

“In addition to staffing more than 38000 teachers, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, at the beginning of 9th Cabinet Start Work, ordered for more than 5088 temporary based contract teachers on to permanent employment” Saeed stated in the press conference.
He also added that 748 teachers recruited in special education field, for the children with special needs.

Saeed further disclosed that they have sent a letter to the General Directorate of Education, to fill out an application for teachers who have been away from work in the recent years, for any reason, also where teachers needed, the priority will be given to them to return to work.
The Minister of Education said “at the beginning of September, the salaries will be paid to temporary-contracts based teachers at the same time with permanent teachers”
