Iraqi solidarity with Lebanese people

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement, on Tuesday, urging for an Arab and Islamic summit to stop Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

Erbil (Kurdistan 24)- The media office of the Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced on Tuesday, “al-Sudani has directed a number of actions to be taken to support the Lebanese people” 

In the statement by the office, it expressed the concerns of the hard circumstances, the Lebanese people are going through, and have been subjected to the air strikes and attacks by Israel.

In solidarity and support with Lebanese people were reaffirmed by the Iraqi Government to Lebanese people, who experience difficult time.

The Prime Minister al-Sudani instructed the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, to issue the following:

1- Extending the entry visa for Lebanese citizens who are in Iraq without the need to travel, and that is for a period of thirty days, also to get it renewal again. According to the Foreigners Residents’ Law No. 76 of 2017, due to the compelling war conditions that Lebanon is going through.

2- Exempting Lebanese citizens who are currently in violation, and under any penalties, that will be stipulated according to the above law.

3- To continue to grant free-entry visas to Lebanese citizens who are arriving at the Iraqi border crossings and gates.

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement, on Tuesday, urging for an Arab and Islamic summit to stop Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

The Iraqi Foreign Affairs announced that the delegations from the Republic of Iraq, was headed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein, .

It issued calling for holding an Arab and Islamic summit, and that is to aim to stop the Israeli attacks against Lebanon.

According to the Foreign Ministry’s statement, Iraq proposed that during the meeting of the Council of Arab League, which was held in New York, on Monday, September 23rd, 2024, in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Al-Sudani, on Monday, directed the establishment of the air-land facilitates and bridges to send aid to Lebanon.

Since Monday morning, September 23rd, 2024, the Israeli army has continued to launch raids on various areas in southern Lebanon.
