ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – Meanwhile, observers confirmed that allocating projects in Iraq is not based on the professionalism or experience of companies, it is rather on the basis of the closeness of these companies to officials.

Covering with a blue nylon, trying to hide the collapsed part of the new bridge built in Baghdad, however it is incomplete, before completing building that bridge showed the level of the quality service has been put into work.

Such example of projects would cost billions of dinars, with a block or pillar broke, causing damage to the whole bridge.

A resident in Baghdad talked with Kurdistan 24 “Building those bridges cost billions of dinars and their quality should be worth the money, there are some newly built bridges are under reconstruction after a few days of opening to the public, we were shocked seeing Topchi bridge collapsed”

“The projects and achievements have been built are not according to the professional criteria work and quality, but mostly for the sake of election campaigning, or beating one political party by another,” said another individual.

Jalil Lami, an economic expert believes that the company which is given the plan should have the ability and skills, also the tenders must be based on the professionalism and experience in building similar projects.

Collapsed bridges and projects will, negatively impact the implementing or operating company.

What weird or questionable is for the residents, the demolition of the old Topchi bridge, despite the fact that it was strong. It occupied a large area and was built in the 1980s by a French company.
