PM Barzani celebrates 43rd graduation ceremony at Salahaddin University
"We are committed to improving the level of education in the Kurdistan Region," Barzani stated during his address.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani attended the 43rd graduation ceremony of Salahaddin University in Erbil, celebrating the achievements of the university’s latest cohort of graduates.
In his speech, the Prime Minister congratulated the 5,554 graduating students and their families, praising their dedication and resilience. He also extended his gratitude to the university’s teachers for their unwavering commitment to education, particularly during times of crisis, ensuring that learning continued despite challenges.
"We are committed to improving the level of education in the Kurdistan Region," Barzani stated during his address. He highlighted the government's efforts in this regard, including the establishment of an accreditation committee aimed at aligning the region's higher education standards with international benchmarks.
In his address to the graduates, Masrour Barzani remarked, "Today, you have successfully completed your academic journey, but you are now approaching a new test—the responsibility of voting, which is a privilege."
"With the knowledge you have gained, you are now better equipped to understand the events unfolding around you. It is crucial to cast your vote for the party that best serves the people and the country in the upcoming election on Oct. 20," he emphasized, referring to the Kurdistan Region parliamentary election that will take place on Oct. 20.
He continued, "This election is of great importance to all of us. The choices made during this process will shape the future of our country. Voters have the power to decide who will lead them, and it is essential that everyone participates so that others do not make these critical decisions on their behalf."
Speaking about the situation in the Middle East and the region, Prime Minister Barzani remarked, "The Middle East and our region as a whole are undoubtedly facing challenging circumstances, but we have encountered such difficulties before. No one can build our country for us unless we have the will to do so ourselves."
"It is vital to embrace the idea that this country belongs to all of us," he continued. "Together, we can create a nation that stands as a model for the entire Middle East." He encouraged the graduates to contribute to both the public and private sectors, playing their part in fostering a peaceful, prosperous, and progressive Kurdistan.
Concluding his speech with optimism, Barzani said, "I am confident that you can shape a happier and more developed future for our country. The government will continue to support you, offering job opportunities in both the public and private sectors."
Salahaddin University, which was originally established in 1968 in Sulaimani and relocated to Erbil in 1981, is the largest and oldest public university in the Kurdistan Region. The institution, consisting of 16 colleges and 86 departments, offers free education to thousands of students annually.
