PM Barzani: Kurdistan Region will remain neutral amid Middle East tensions
"We are ready to contribute to any initiative that promotes peace, stability, and security in this region," he affirmed. "We do not want to become involved in this war, and we will not become involved."

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Friday, the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, during a town hall meeting with representatives of various social groups in Duhok province, emphasized the region's commitment to maintaining neutrality amid escalating Middle East tensions.
"While regional tensions undoubtedly affect all countries in the area, we have worked diligently to ensure that Kurdistan remains uninvolved in these conflicts," PM Barzani stated. "This is not our war, and we have no intention of becoming entangled in others' conflicts."
The Prime Minister underscored the Kurdistan Region's desire for peace and stability: "We want our country to remain peaceful and our people to live in tranquility. We have all grown weary of war, and we refuse to be drawn into this conflict."
PM Barzani revealed that his government has been actively engaging with neighboring countries to assure them that the Kurdistan Region poses no threat to their interests.
"We are ready to contribute to any initiative that promotes peace, stability, and security in this region," he affirmed. "We do not want to become involved in this war, and we will not become involved."
Highlighting the Region's diplomatic achievements, the Prime Minister noted that Kurdistan's international relations have reached unprecedented levels.
"Our diplomatic status has evolved to the point where many nations regard Kurdistan as more than just a region," he explained. "Often, we are treated with the protocol typically reserved for sovereign states in their diplomatic interactions."
This stance of neutrality comes at a crucial time as regional tensions continue to escalate in the Middle East. The Kurdistan Regional Government's position reflects its commitment to maintaining stability and protecting its people's interests while navigating complex regional dynamics.
The Prime Minister's remarks underscore the KRG's mature approach to regional politics and its success in building strong international relationships while maintaining neutrality in regional conflicts.
This diplomatic balancing act has helped the Kurdistan Region maintain its stability and continue its development despite the challenging regional environment.
